Thank you so much for being the first submission! This is a beautiful piece that I think perfectly describes the perseverance and courage needed to get through every day when bearing the weight of a mental illness or just difficulties of everyday life.

To the poet: I hope you find solace in the fact that you are not alone. I know exactly what you feel like. It is a circle that we go through of ups and downs but we aren't alone and eventually we are able to shift our circles towards one with more/longer ups than downs. You just need to hold on and find the support you need. <3

P.S. Please message me if you do have a title for this piece and I'd be happy to update it!

I've lived lives, upon lives, built on lies in my head, I can't take it.

And I tried, and I tried, but my smile's contrived, I can't fake it.

All these lives I never had, these years I never lived,

Come back to me now...

I guess these are just the things life does to you.

Cross my arms, hold myself, wipe off the tears. Stroke my cheek, close my eyes, it's almost like you're here.

But days like these, days like these make me wanna rip it all off. Jump in the river, See where she takes me.

I guess, I'm learning, by going where I have to go.

It's not a road.

It's a circle.

And I'm coming back around.
